With smooth action and a quality build, the Abbey Bike Tools Modular Bearing Press With Handles is designed to allow you to press in a wide variety of bottom brackets and headsets with minimal effort.
Where most press heads are just nuts, Abbey Bike Tools has created a solid thrust bearing with balls and races, ensuring that the pressing action is smooth and isolated from torque. It can be turned by hand using the brand's signature finger spline pattern. If you need more leverage, the brand has included a pair of sturdy, machined handles, adding up to 5" in length.
The Press Kit comes with a selection of nine drifts that fit perfectly, along with a centring cone to ensure the press is concentric with the bore. All of these are sized to the 1/2" acme thread, guaranteeing that the bearings or headsets will be inserted straight every time.
At the other end of the press, there is a sturdy quick nut that slides onto the thread and up to the drift. It securely clicks into place and can be operated easily with one hand, offering fast and smooth action with no pinch risk. This makes the job quicker and easier.
Abbey recommends installing bearings one at a time using the centring cone to ensure they settle in straight without any damage to them, the frame, or your tools.
