The Maratona Gear Bag was designed as a cycling specific travel bag for those weekend riding trips and races, yet is versatile enough to be used as a general travel bag. Our designers used feedback gathered from both professional and amateur riders to design a gear bag that addresses the common pain points of traveling with cycling gear.
Key features include an internal vented shoe bag with both internal and external access, a vented damp garment bag and internal water bottle holsters. In addition to helping you stay organized, these features become even more useful after an event when you want to keep your ride-day kit separate from your other clothing and weekend essentials. Additionally, the padded top flap unzips completely so as to lay flat on the ground to form a small work area or act as place to sit while putting on shoes.
Maratona is optimized to fully exploit the airline size regulations for carry-on luggage allowing for up to 10L more internal volume than other 'Maximum Carry-On' sized bags. With three external handles and stowable shoulder straps, Maratona converts in seconds between duffel bag and backpack. The three external handles make the bag easy to grab and the convertible shoulder straps allow you adjust the bag for traveling through the airport, the city or your next event with ease and maximum comfort.
Airline size regulations for carry-on luggage heavily influenced the shape and dimensions of Maratona. The bag maximizes the standard Maximum Airline Carry-On Limit of 55cm x 35cm x 23cm (44 Liters) when moderately packed, expanding to 60cm x 40cm x 25cm (60 Liters) when fully packed.

Like many of our other bag offerings, Maratona is constructed of 600D Nylon and waxed canvas, with a lining of bright red 100D nylon to provide high contrast making it easier to find things inside the bag. This combination of materials has been used by SILCA for years now and has been proven to meet our standards for reliability, durability, and weather resistance. Reflective quilt stitching and SILCA branding throughout the outside complete the aesthetics of the bag while letting those around you know your passion for the sport of cycling.
